We had a blast teaming up to support the North-Suburban Emergency Assistance Response (NEAR) organization in Brooklyn Center, MN with our 1st annual food drive.
Cass invited associates to bring in non-perishable food items or monetary contributions to donate to NEAR. We collected the items and added the monetary donations into the mix ($1=1 pound of food), organizing the donations by department. On November 25th, we conducted a weigh-in. The total came to 1,185 pounds. Cass matched employee contributions with a cash donation. Our Quality Department won a catered lunch for having the most pounds of food provided per team member and participated in the delivery of our donations to NEAR.
In addition to putting the food donations to immediate use, NEAR informed us that the cash donations went straight towards covering some of their monthly operating budget shortfalls.
President Jim Garvin summed up the program by offering thanks to employees for contributing to and working on this program. We’ll definitely be repeating our Cass Food Drive in 2020. Well done.
